Stain removal Alcohol Stains   Clear alcohol stains can be removed by rinsing the area with cold water, then soaking the stained garment in 1L of warm water with one teaspoon of presoak agent for 30 minutes, stirring the water occassionally. Rinse thoroughly, then launder the garment in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Do not dry until the stain is completely removed. Love your tradie and all his Stains!

Trades men, come into elaundry with all sorts of FAB stains, sometimes surprising our our dry cleaner other times not so much. To ensure you still love your tradie stains and all or if you are a tradie here are some handy hints to keep your clothing looking a little less ick out on site!

White Glue or Rubber Cement

Scrape off as much glue as possible using a dull kitchen knife. Treat the area with prewash stain remover and launder in the hottest water approved for the fabric.

Super Glue

Allow the glue to dry before attempting to remove it from fabric if it isn't already dry. Wet a cotton bud with acetone-based nail polish remover yes this works! Test the fabric in a small, inner seam just to make sure the fabric isn't compromised! Working from the outside of the stain to the inside, dab the spot with the swab, letting the swab sit on the spot for a minute or two.

Using a dull knife, scrape away any loose glue. Its best to repeat if stains are still present!

When you feel the glue is gone, treat the area with prewash stain remover like Eco Store laundry soaker and launder according to fabric label directions. Check the stain before placing the garment in the dryer; you may need to retreat. Drying will set the stain and it will be impossible to remove.

Ballpoint Ink and Washable Markers

Wet a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol again test the fabric just in case! Working from the outside of the stain to the inside, dab the spot with the swab. Change to a new swab as ink is absorbed to keep from redistributing the ink. Launder according to the fabric label directions.

Why line dry? Because, it will save you money and is easier on the environment still not convinced read on to get the low down.

Saving Money- Yes it all adds up, we are all guilty of running the dryer on over time especially in winter yest you can cut up to as much as $150 a yr by swapping drying in the dryer for line drying.

Green Laundry- Line drying is easy on the environment saving precious fossil fuels for more important things. Go green!

Fresh Air- yes, fresh air actually adds a great smell to garments minus the harsh chemicals. Also great for allergic type prone people and children.

Garment savers- Its no secrete drying clothing and garments in a dryer is harsh on clothing and can strain fibres hence drying on the clothing line is best on prolonging the life of your garment.

A free workout- For all you gym conscious people hanging laundry is a great way to sneak in a touch of exercise, an arm and leg workout in one, all while being out doors!

Sun Light Stay Bright- Sunlight is going to bleach and disinfect laundry. Best suitable for sheets and towels. Avoid dark clothing and sunlight as this can distort the colours.

•Ribbon

Instructions:

A simple gift idea! Fill the Laundry scoop with candy hugs and kisses. Cut a large piece of plastic wrap. Set the scoop in the middle of the plastic wrap. Fold the plastic wrap over so the two ends meet at the scoop handle. Pull the plastic wrap tightly around the scoop and gather around the handle. Business News: QLD Dancesport Championships

Over the Easter weekend, elaundry in partnership with Camelia Carlton attended the QLD Dancesport Championships at Jupiter's Casino on the Gold Coast.

elaundry hosted a stall where we sold the Camelia Carlton active wear, dance wear and travel wear range, sold our Hollywood Fashion & Cinderella Cleaning products and told the competitor's and families about our key services - dancesport costume design & cleaning, custom embroidery and monogramming, washing and more!

In particular, the Cinderella Stain Remover sold like hotcakes at the event, with dancers flocking to the elaundry stall looking for advice & products to remove fake tan and makeup from their customs. We told them to spray their costume with the product, leave for 90 minutes, then wash as usual (which involved a sink & hand dryer in the casino bathrooms!)

April is here, which means that our most eagerly-anticipated event on the yearly calendar is almost upon us! The Queensland Dancesport Championships will be held at Jupiter's Casino on the weekend of April 23-24th 2011.

elaundry has been busy preparing for this event, including designing custom costumes for participants and a Dancesport activewear/dancewear range with Camelia Carlton. Most recently, we have partnered with Project Bombshell to create a Dancesport package including custom & makeup.

Charity: Supporting Local Schools

Tomorrow morning (Wednesday 16th March), Buranda State School is launching their brand new Walk to School program. Locals, families, students and council members will be in attendance for the ceremony which encourages physical activities while reducing their carbon footprint.

As a dry cleaner with a strong environmental focus, we were so impressed by the school's initiative that we provided a bunch of $5 off elaundry cards and Suite Commuter Coffee loyalty cards (with the holes pre-punched for free coffee).

Business News: BCEC

elaundry's biggest contract - the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is back in business and are giving thanks to the community for their support and encouragement.

It took only two weeks for BCEC to confirm it's recovery by hosting four events and welcoming 5,000 guests for Australia's national day.

The impact on flooding at the Merivale Street Centre was significantly less than we anticipated with the Centre's event spaces unaffected and water intrsution limited to car parking and service areas.

BCEC will host 48 events this month with attendances of over 17,000 people.

And they are looking forward to a busy calendar for the remainder of 2011 with 103 conventions.
