April Showers Bring May Flowers and Gardening Stains!

Simple how to guide in removing some of the nasty gardening miss-haps and stains I will be highlighting some of the main offenders over the next few weeks. Poison Ivy Exposed Clothing

Poison Ivy is one of those plants that will make you itch- what causes this itch? Oil within the ivy is the cause and can remain within the fibres of clothing for up to 2 years- your favorite gardening shirt may become your least!

 

To remove wash with your usual detergent however wash the garment in the highest recommended water temperature. Try not to over load your machine either! Why? Because the ivy will not be washed out however will transfer onto other clothing in the washer. Best wear rubber gloves if dealing with clothing that as come into contact with poison ivy.
