How to: Spot Treat

Today we will learn how to spot treat stains, it is one of the easier things to do when a stain appears on your clothing however can seem somewhat scary for a first time spotter ( laundry term for spot treatment). To make it easier, I have put the order in simple steps meaning husband/boyfriend or son friendly instructions!

Step 1:

Check your care label if dry clean only bring it into elaundry! If the care label does not indicate this then, blot the stain with cloth, or paper towel, to absorb any excess residue.

Step 2:

Dampen a cloth or paper towel with some cleaning solvent, if your not too sure elaundry recommends: Professional Spotting Kit & Chart, Murchison-Hume Garment Groom Spray, Cinderella Stain Remover.

Step 3:

Dab the stain working from the center of the stain to the outer edges.

Step 4:

As the stain transfer itself to the cloth or absorbent towel, keep changing to a clean part of the cloth or towel to ensure the stain.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 1-4.
