Stain Alert: Mystery Stains

Doing the weekly washing mystery stains can sometimes appear! How to remove these at times can be a mystery too so where in the world do you start?

Locating stains

Food stains are generally found on the front or collar of garments a dead give away, perspiration are generally under the arm of a garment and grease or dirt generally appear from car door level down to the floor of a garment.

Odor & Smells

Oil and grease based stains can smell rancid however have the appearance of being dry, however a fuel odor will linger.

Colour

General idea is: Brown= protein based, grey is oil based, rusty in colour can be tea or coffee, caramelized sugar and cosmetics will leave a bleached type stain.
