Save money: Carbon Tax:

Welcome to the new financial year where the new carbon tax has been put in place, yes those awful two little words 'Carbon Tax'. While everyone is expecting increased in generally everything we choose to do, eat and see I have complied a list of things to do to decrease your energy bill!

1. When shopping for your next washing machine choose a energy star certified washer, this washer may cost a tad more now but you will be saving atleast 40% of the energy a usual washer usues. This washer also saves on water. This washer uses about 50% less water than a usual washer.

2. Shopping around for your next washer is also the best advice seek a washing machine that is best suitable for your house hold, a one person house hold will NOT need a large front loading washing machine however a family of four will.
3. 90% of the energy put into washign clothes in your washing machine comes from heating the water, when possible use a cold wash! And cut your energy usage!

4. When shopping for a dryer, seek one that has a moisture sensor, the machine will turn itself off when clothing is dry saving you a whole lot of money.

5. Plan out laundry loads, dry several loads consecutively this will cutt your energy consumption as the dry is already warm from the previous load.

6. Clean lint filters and dryer exhast fans regularly not only will this save you from hazardous firesm but also will prevent your dryer working over time.

7. If its sunny hang clothing out to dry! Money saver!
