Water Wise?

Unlike energy, water is a tangible resource and so this being said we can control its usage and decrease those ever growing bills! This is a good thing, given that climate change, population growth, and other factors are forcing our rivers to run dry.

We've got a whole host of ways for you to save the precious resource, including taking shorter showers and reducing junk mail haha...

1. Adjust Your Dishwasher Settings

If you have the option, use your machine’s eco water-saving mode. (While you’re at it, turn off the dryer setting to save energy.)

2. Skip the Pre-Rinse

Simply scrape and let your dishwasher do the actual cleaning.

3. Super Saver: Run Fewer, Fuller Loads

This goes for both the dishwasher and the washing machine.

4. Super Saver: Choose Efficient Applicances

An Energy Star washing machine can save up to 54 ltrs of water per load.

5. Reuse Your Linens

Rather than grabbing a fresh towel every day, use the same one for a week. You can also extend the life span of your sheets by swapping out the pillowcases more often than the rest of the set. (They get the most germy, anyhow.)

6. De-Clog Naturally

Conventional drain cleaners contain toxic chemicals, such as sodium hydroxide. Pour equal parts baking soda, white vinegar, and boiling water down the drain. Let sit for half an hour before rinsing.

I hope these handy hints have helped you start to think about how you can save on your water bill! For more handy hints check up on Facebook and Twitter!
